CHRISTMAS COOKIéS – OLD FAMILY FAVORITéS – NUT ROLLS
ingrediénts
- 1* cup of milk
- 1/4 cup of watér
- 1 1/2 tabléspoon of sugar
- 2 1/2 téaspoons of yeast
- 3* cups flour
- 1/2 cup castér sugar
- 1/2 téaspoon of salt
- Shortén 1/4 cup
- 2 égg yolks
- 1/2* cup of milk
- 1/2 cup of honéy
- 3 tabléspoons of butter

Instructions
- In a small saucépan simmer 1 cup of milk, add 1/4 cup watér and 1 1/2 tabléspoon sugar.
- Remove from heat and lét cool.
- add 2 1/2 téaspoons of yeast
In a bowl, combiné:
- 3* cups flour
- 1/2 cup castér sugar
- 1/2 téaspoon of salt
- Cut into 1/4 cup of shorténing
Add 2 égg yolks and the milk / yeast mixture
Knéad until glossy, but not sticky. I use the dough hook on my Kitchénaid mixer and let it work for about 5 minutés.
Divide the dough into three équal parts on the greased cookie sheet. Covér with a clean cloth and let the dough rise in a warm place until its size doubles. (Approximatly one hour)
Mix the ingrédients in a saucepan over low heat and stir until smooth. Remove from héat and stir in 3-4* cups chopped walnuts.
Roll the dough into a circlé (about 1/8* "to 1/4" thick) and spread 1/3 of the nut mixturé up to about an inch from the edges.
Roll it up and place the séam down on a greased cookié sheet. Cover with a cloth and lét rise in a warm place for 3O minutés.
Brush the égg whites on the buns and bake at 35O degrées for 30 to 4O minutés
